RACE Course:  This Weekend the GES race course will consist of the start & top portion of WORLD CUP 
trail & ALL or NUTTEN trail.

Schedule:  FRIDAY - Bike Park OPEN at normal hours & rates (10am-5pm).   Online registration open until 10pm.
                Saturday - Open for OnSite GES registration/pickup & Practice  10am-5pm 
                 Sunday  -  Practice 8:30-10:30  Regsistration closes at 9AM.
                                 Rider meeting 11am,  racing follows
                                 After racing the park will be open for riding
                                 Awards for Final Round & Series Champions after protest period & points tally

Blue Mountain Gravity East DH and DS Race Venue Info August 2016

Lift Hours:

Friday Aug 5 12pm-6pm (Not included with registration)

Saturday Aug 6 10am-6pm (Included)

Sunday Aug 7 9am-6pm (Included)

Race Course:

The downhill race course will follow Miles Of Smiles to Moto to new connector to Loose Cannon to Happy Ending.   The race course will intersect Boulevard and follow it for a short distance.  Boulevard will be closed after exiting the “S” turns under the chairlift and traffic will be diverted to Happy Yummy Fun trail.  The over under bridge will also be closed and OCS riders will be directed to turn before the over/under bridge.  See course map…

Camping:

Camping fee is $10 per person for the weekend.  (18+)

Camping will be available Friday August 5 and Saturday August 6 at the mountain. Campers must set up in the bottom of our tubing park. Flush toilets and firewood are included.

(Camping will no longer be permitted in the mountain bike lot due to drainage issues.)

Food:

The Trails End Bar in the Mountain Bike lodge will be selling wraps, hot dogs, pretzel, drinks, and beers during operating hours. 

Blue Mountain’s Slopeside Pub and Grille will also be open until 11am for full bar and dining menu.  This is a great option for post ride refuel. 

Outside alcohol is not permitted in buildings at Blue Mountain.  Please be discreet with your beverages. 

 Race trails: Miles Of Smiles – Moto – New connector – Boulevard – Loose Cannon (full) – Happy Ending.

Closed trails: Moto, Boulevard connection to Root Down/Ewok, over under bridge on OCS

If you're looking for info on the originally scheduled ROUND#2 at Timberline we are working out the resources & details to finalize and publish that rescheduled date as soon as possible.

  In the mean time...  There will be a joint Gravity Soul /  Bryce Bike Park event the weekend of June 18/19 in Basye, Va.  to satisfy your riding and racing needs.  There will be an opportunity for riding all day Saturday & three timed runs on three different tracks on Sunday!  For more info tune into  gravitysoul.com or reach out to Bryce Bike Park.  This event will not count toward GES points but will have separate awards & prizes.

GES #2 (Timberline, WV) is being postponed until a later date in the July-August time frame

We regret to inform everyone that due to excessive spring rains,  ground moisture,  and forecast weather for the next two weeks…   Timberline’s required off season lift service work cannot be guaranteed to be completed by June 17-19^th.    Without this required service the resort insurer will not allow use of the lifts.  Therefore, to give racers adequate time to reschedule / rearrange travel plans and rather than wait longer to determine viability of the project completion date we have jointly, along with Timberline, decided to postpone and reschedule. 

We became aware of the service project implications this week as the original schedule has slipped due to the weather/ground conditions  at or below a  60/40 %  or less likelihood of full project  completion by June 17th.

We would like everyone to know that Timberline is doing everything in it’s power to complete the service work as soon as possible.  The lift operation is critical to the success of organization and is given the utmost priority.  The Maxxis Gravity East Series fully supports  Timberline Four Seasons Resort,  in their efforts to maintain the lifts & service,  in the best  interests of riders and the resort community.

We should be coming to an agreement on the new date within the next 3 to 5 days and will post more info as soon as it’s available.

We are excited to announce the 2016 Maxxis Gravity East Series Finals will be held at Massanutten Bike Park.  New trails and new terrain expected to open up Mid-Summer.  The Finals Downhill course will contain portions of new trails.
